Let's recap the day

Hey!
So like I said in yesterdays post, today was hard. It was like my day of tests because I had a math test, a spanish quiz, and a history quiz. So let's start with the beginning of the day. I had a math test at 7:30. It was a pretty hard test, but I think that I did okay. Like maybe I got a B on it or something. But I think that 7:30 is too early to take a math test! The next test that I had was a spanish test. It was okay, but it was scantron. I thought that it was hard, but scantron spanish quizzes are usually hard. The last quiz was history. It was easy and it was fun! It was only 10 questions, and torpedo kept talking out loud to himself and it was the weirdest/funniest thing! When I got home I watched the Dr. Phil interview. I feel so bad for Manti. He is friends with some of my classmates and it just sucks what he went through. The interview was kind of sketch too. Because he didn't seem too sorry for what he did. Either that or he does really well under pressure. I also watched last nights top chef. I'm so sad that Stefan left! He was my favorite, but at the same time I am also glad that Sheldon didn't leave because us Hawaii people got to stay together :D If you watch top chef, let me know in the comments your thoughts on last nights episode. I also got to see some family and I got frozen yogurt, which was super yummy!

Funniest moment: The funniest moment was when torpedo started talking to himself during the quiz. It was hilarious and really awkward at the same time.

Best part of the day: I don't really have any classes tomorrow because something big is happening tomorrow at my school. So having a 5 day weekend is pretty amazing plus tomorrow at school is going to be really fun with good food and fun activities!

Worst part of the day: The 3 tests! I am not a big test taking person and I thought that the tests took up a big part of the day. It just was not fun having 3 tests in one day.

Health and fitness of the day

Hey!
So it is time for another health and fitness of the day post! So let's get started.
What I ate today:
Smoothie
Toast
Slice of pepperoni pizza
Another smoothie
Diet coke
Mushrooms, zucchini, and onion
Steak
Rice
Frozen yogurt w/ oreo cookies, candy corn, and red velvet cake piece
So overall, I thought that it was an okay day that was a little bit on the bad side. The pizza wasn't the healthiest thing to eat, but at dinner I ate extra veggies so I think that I made up the nutritional values!
My fitness today:
I didn't do anything fitness related today. I did the usual small things like lunges while brushing my teeth and jumping jacks during commercials, but other than that I didn't do anything fitness related.
Today, honestly, was a lazy day. But I'm human and I think that I can afford to take a day off once in a while too! Let me know what your health and fitness of the day was in the comments below and subscribe if you like my blog!

Let's recap the day

Hey everyone!
So it is time again for my let's recap the day post! So today was a great day and I am so happy that I get to share it with you guys! So let's get started.
Today I woke up and I was just full of energy! You know it was one of those days where I am so energetic and happy and for me, these days don't happen very often. I think that it has to do something with sleep cycles, but I'm not quite sure to be honest. I had math again at 7:30, but that didn't really bother me too much. Something that I thought was funny was when some guy in my class was explaining a problem he kept saying geographical mean instead of geometric mean. I think that the nerds, like me, thought that was funny! I had a long break after that. Actually, it wasn't that long, but it felt long because it was one of those breaks where only people I don't hang out with were on break. But my friend went out on a starbucks run so I got an iced caramel macchiato, which was delicious! I was really craving one of those! They were selling rose grams at school so my friend went to buy some for some guys she liked. She sent 2 to guys that she liked (anonymous of course!) and she sent one to her ex. I thought that was hilarious because she made it seem like it was a secret admirer to get her revenge. LOL. We also sent one to a freshman that I'm friends with but we signed it from one of the guys in my group whom she "likes". I don't know if she still likes him, but he doesn't like her. My friend thought it would be funny to mess with her and I'm pretty sure that she'll get that its a joke when she receives it! I had yoga today and that was amazing. To read more about it click here. That was pretty much all the interesting happenings of my life today. The rest of it was school, classes, homework, and all the uninteresting parts of my day.

Funniest moment: I'm such a nerd! But I thought the geographical mean was the funniest thing in the world! I could barely contain my giggles when he was talking!

Best part of the day: My friend being nice enough to get me my caramel macchiato! It was so good and totally made my day! The little actions can mean the world to me sometimes :D

Worst part of the day: Studying for all the tests/quizzes I have tomorrow! I have a math test, a history quiz, and a spanish quiz. I am so not looking forward to tomorrow!

Health and fitness of the day

Hey guys! So today I'm making a change in my health and fitness of the day posts. Instead of writing out in paragraph form what foods I ate, I am going to make a list. The list will be in order of when I ate it during the day. Let me know if you like this format or the other format better in the comments below! So let's get into my nutrition!

What I ate:
fruit loops
milk
smoothie
grande iced caramel machiatto
1/2 personal pan pepperoni pizza
jr bacon cheeseburger
another smoothie
rice
meatballs
corn
ahi poke (shoyu poke)
So, overall I think that it was not the best day nutritionally. The pizza and the cheeseburger really made my nutrition tank, but I think that everything else was pretty good. The fruit loops also weren't the healthiest, but like I said in previous health and fitness of the day posts, I don't drink milk too often, so if fruit loops helps me get my calcium, I'll eat it!

My fitness today was pretty good. I had another yoga session today so that was 1 1/2 hours. We ran through the basic poses that I already learned (triangle pose, warrior 2, tree pose, downward dog...) but we also learned some new poses. The first new pose that I learned was the eagle pose. It was pretty tough because you are focusing on your balance, but at the same time your legs are crossed and your arms are crossed. It is tough! The next pose was the chair pose. This one was hard as well, not because the pose itself was hard, but because it is hard to maintain. It is like holding a squat for a minute or two. The last (and maybe my favorite) pose that I learned today was the fish pose. It is like a bridge, but your hips and legs are on the ground and you are bridging onto the crown of your head. It was a great stretch and I thought that it was fun! I totally recommend trying out a yoga class if you are interested because I didn't think that I would like it, but I ended up loving it!

Let's recap the day

Hey everyone!
So let's just get into my day. I had math at 7:30 today and that was the same old stuff. It was boring, but at least I could stay awake during the class! The next interesting thing was during spanish. Everyone in the class had a sentence written in spanish and we had to arrange ourselves to form a story. My "smart" class took 20 minutes of running around asking everyone what their sentence was before realizing that we could just put the sentences on the table and arrange it there. We are the slowest group of people ever! In Asian "torpedo" was back. He was hilarious as ever because we sent him to the bookstore to buy some supplies for everyone. Everyone gave him 50 cents to buy a map for us and he bought maps for everyone. Everyone except himself that is. He came back and he realized that he was short and had to walk all the way back to the bookstore to buy himself one. It was so funny because we were like "that's typical torpedo!" Orchestra was fun as usual. We were still playing around with the foam shoulder rests and that was hilarious as usual. I just love my cello section because we are all really close and we can have fun with each other, which is more than I could say for the violins. LOL. But really, it was so fun. I also had tumbling after school again. To read more about that click here

Funniest moment: Definitely when torpedo walked into class and realized that he bought a map for everyone in the class except himself. Totally a LOL moment!

Best part of the day: Getting my birchbox in the mail! For my unboxing post click here. I have been waiting so long for my birchbox and I am excited to experiment with the products, especially the hot mama blush!

Worst part of the day: I had a massive headache during tumbling today. Tumbling is hard enough, tumbling with a headache is really tough. I took an ibuprofen and I'm all good now, though!

Health and fitness of the day

Hey everyone!
So it's time for another health and fitness of the day post. So I'm going to start with nutrition first today.
For breakfast I had a smoothie and a piece of toast. It was really good, especially the smoothie! It had blueberries and strawberries and bananas and it was really good. For lunch I had a little bit of stew and rice (leftovers from last nights dinner) and a little bit of a chinese chicken salad. The salad was so good and I have been loving salad recently. For dinner I had 2 slices of pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut. It was really good, and although it is "bad" for you, it tasted amazing! If everything else I ate was good, it's okay that I eat pizza for dinner, right? Overall, I think that I did pretty good. Not great, but good.
My fitness today basically consisted of tumbling. I had tumbling again for cheerleading and I was working the same thing as last week: a roundoff back handspring step out roundoff back handspring. I think that I'm getting good at it and that I'm ready to try some new things. For all you gymnast/cheerleaders out there, can you give me some tips because I want to try doing my roundoff handspring tuck, but I am afraid to have my Tuesday tumbling coach spot me because I don't trust him enough. Any tips would help me so much! I'm glad that I got some exercise in though, because something is better than nothing!

Health and fitness of the day

Hey everyone!
So it is time again for my health and fitness of the day. Today was a really good day. I feel like I was pretty healthy and good today!
So let's start with fitness...
Today I had yoga. For all of you that don't know, I have yoga 2x a week or so for 1 1/2 hours. It is the PE that I take at my school. Today I had yoga and I thought that it was really fun! We started learning more poses like the warrior 2 and cat/cow and all of the other basic poses. I think that it is so important for you not only to be physically healthy, but also mentally. For all of you guys who read my last let's recap the day blog post you know that the latter half of today was really tough and stressful and just not that great for me and I think that it is important for everyone to have an outlet where you can release the stress that can build up. (If you want to read my let's recap the day post click here). So yoga was fun and I think that it is a great "workout" for you to try out if you need something slower and more relaxing than say, running. I also did a little bit of stationary biking when I got home. It wasn't that long, 20 minutes or so, but it was good because I got to watch family guy when I did it! I love watching tv when doing exercises because then it feels less like work and more like fun!
For nutrition today, I think that it was one of my better days so far. It wasn't great, but it was definitely an improvement. For breakfast, I had some cereal and milk and a little bit of a chocolate chip muffin. Today, I didn't have a snack in between breakfast and lunch "shocker!". For lunch I had leftover garlic chicken and rice from yesterday. It tasted better yesterday, but it was still good. When I got home from school, I made a smoothie as a snack and had 3 oreos and a glass of milk. I know oreos aren't the healthiest, but if I can get myself to drink milk with it, then I think that it is an even trade. Some oreos for some calcium. For dinner I had some stew and rice. It was really good. I love my dad's stew! Another shocker: I didn't eat any dessert tonight! How good am I? Just kidding! But really, I think that today's exercise and diet was great!

Let's recap the day

Hey guys!
So it's time for another let's recap the day today! Today was a weird day. It had some great moments, but it also had some bad moments as well. So lets get into it.
My first class today was at 8:30 and it was orchestra. It wasn't that interesting and I can't say too much about that. I had chapel today and it was so funny. The guys that were sitting next to me were hilarious. During the songs that we were supposed to sing they were singing in really high voices and I was laughing so much! I had yoga today. I am so happy that I had it today because I really needed the time to destress. I'm going to post my health and fitness of the day post later tonight so check that out if you would like to hear more about yoga today. I had asian history after that. It was so funny because my teacher was really off today. He was talking about how he took too much nyquil so he was really off. It was funny because he would make jokes about the smart guy in my class who always answers all the questions. And he thought that I was flipping him off when I held up 2 fingers with my hand (although I wasn't flipping him off). I was like "I'm sorry" and he was like "well don't be I probably deserved that" LOL
So tonight has been really hard. I am usually a person that can handle stress really well, but tonight has just been hard. I had a lot of homework and it's just hard knowing that there is so much to be done in not enough time. I think that I am just feeling overwhelmed. That's okay though, because I figure whatever homework i don't finish tonight I can do tomorrow during my breaks. It just sucks knowing that you've had a great day, but your still bummed out. Let me know if this ever happens to you guys in the comments!

Funniest moment: I was talking with my friends and we started talking about dreadlocks and if it was possible to make dreadlocks out of nipple hair. It was totally one of those you need to have been there to think it was funny moments, but it was hilarious!

Best part of the day: yoga! I love yoga because it gives me 1 1/2 hours of doing nothing except focusing on my body and myself. It's so peaceful and I think that today especially was one of the best yoga classes I've had

Worst part of the day: the amount of homework I have. It's a lot and it's been overwhelming me and it just sucks having this much homework.

Let's recap the day

Hey!
So it's time for another let's recap the day post!
Today was not that interesting. It really was one of those lazy days where nothing is accomplished.
So I woke up at 8:00 again and I ate breakfast and got ready and all of that boring stuff. I had gymnastics at 10:00 (for more about my gymnastics check out my last blog post) and that really was the most exciting part of the day. After gymnastics, we went to pick up bentos that we ate for lunch. I got the garlic chicken bento and it was really good. After lunch, I went into my bedroom and organized a little bit, watched youtube videos a little bit, and painted my nails. (Click here for my nail of the day post). I watched the SAG awards. OMG I love these award shows! I think that Ty Burrell or Erik Stonestreet was totally robbed for best male actor in a comedy series and so was Sofia Vergara for best female actor in a comedy series. Honestly, I think that Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey won just because it was 30 Rock's last season. Feel free to disagree with me though, that's just my opinion. For dinner I ate CPK and that was good too. Today was just uninteresting. The weather was bad. I saw a lizard outside today so I'll post a picture of that in the blog just for the heck of it.

Funniest moment: I thought that Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway presenting Les Miserables was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing! You should totally youtube it if you missed it!

Best part of the day: This makes me sound like a fatty, but the best part of the day was lunch. You guys have no idea how good that chicken was!

Worst part of the day: The weather was just really bad. It was voggy (volcanic fog) and overcast and rainy and ugly. (For my weather report click here).

Health and fitness of the day

Hey everyone!
So today I actually exercised! Like legit exercising instead of the little exercises that I usually do during the day. So I guess that I'll start with my exercise today. I had gymnastics today. I do gymnastics for cheerleading to help improve my tumbling and I have a tumbling class once a week with the people on my squad. It is an hour and today I was working on standing back tucks and getting a higher rebound out of my roundoff back handspring. It was good and for the last 10 minutes we were conditioning and doing some body alignment exercises. It was pretty tiring and to be honest, it was my only exercise of the day besides the little things that I always do (jumping jacks during commercials, lunges while brushing my teeth...).
For nutrition today I did okay. I don't think that it was particularly good or bad, kind of just an okay day. For breakfast, my dad made fried rice with kamaboko and spam and egg. It was really good. Along with breakfast I also made a smoothie. Lunch was so good today. We had garlic chicken from a really good place. It was so yummy and I had leftovers so that's going to be my lunch tomorrow as well. That was some yummy chicken! For a snack I had a Samurai cup. It is sort of like an ice cake and the flavor that I got was strawberry vanilla. For dinner, my parents picked up food from CPK. I had a little bit of chinese chicken salad and bread. Also, I had a little bit of spicy ahi bowl from Kuru Kuru sushi. The fish from there is so good as well!
So that was my nutrition and fitness for today! Let me know in the comments what your nutrition and fitness was and subscribe if you like my blog posts!

Weather update: thunderstorms and flash floods

Hey everyone!
So once again I'm going to hit you with another weather update. So today it looked super overcast. Like when you know it is going to rain soon but you don't know when it is going to start to rain. So all day it was gray and cloudy and I thought that it was going to storm (which sucks because the Pro Bowl was today). But it didn't start raining until the afternoon after the pro bowl was over, which was good. But the part about the weather that I hate the most is that it is supposed to thunderstorm all the way until next week tuesday. And there is a huge event that happens at my school every year on this friday and saturday and it is supposed to storm on those 2 days. That is terrible because it is a huge fundraiser for my school and it is a ton of fun. Also, I hate this weather because it gets really muddy and it's awful walking cross campus in the rain and mud.
So that is the weather here in sunny rainy Hawaii! Let me know what weather your having where you are and subscribe if you like my blog posts!

January favorites

Hey guys!
So it is time for my january favorites! For my beauty/fashion favorites click here. So this blog will cover my other favorites and my other blog (www,livelovemakeup14.blogspot.com) will cover my other favorites.
So my first favorite of the month is a blender. It is a small one serving blender that I got from sears last month. It makes it so easy to make smoothies for breakfast (look out for a my favorite smoothies post coming soon) and it is great because I can take it on the go.
My second favorite is a bath and body works wall flower in cinnamon sticks. It smells so good and it leaves my room smelling warm and homey.
My third favorite is a television show. Dance moms! I think that this season is really good and dramatic and it is my must watch show. Other favorite shows this month are top chef, the middle, modern family, the office, and pretty little liars.
My food favorite of the month is the ahi salad from Ryan's. To read more about this salad click here. Anyways it is a seared ahi salad with a wasabi vinaigrette that is so good.
My drink favorite of the month is skinny iced caramel machiattos from starbucks. They are so good and are the perfect pick me up when I need an energy boost. For my favorite starbucks drinks click here

top 5: starbucks drinks!

Hey guys!
So it's time for another top 5! Last week I did top 5 favorite youtubers so if you didn't see that you should definitely check that out! So here are my favorite starbucks drinks.
1) Iced Skinny Caramel Macchiato
This is my go to starbucks drink. It has the things that I love: coffee and caramel. I get mine layered because I love having the caramel at the bottom and the espresso and milk on the top, but you can get it stirred too. Just a note: I would get it skinny because you save calories and it tastes the same as the regular one. Also another thing to note is that this is a sweet drink so if you are a fan of the bitter, black coffee taste you're not going to get that in this drink.
2) Caramel Brulee Frappuccino
This is a seasonal drink in the fall/winter time, but it is one of my favorites. It is similar to the caramel frappuccino because it tastes the same, but the caramel brulee one has a slightly different taste that I can't describe. But it's really good! Also, my favorite part of this frappuccino is that it has little brulee pieces on the top that when you drink it adds crunchy texture. It is my favorite seasonal holiday drink from starbucks!
3) Green Tea Frappuccino
I love this! It tastes sort of like green tea ice cream if you know what that tastes like. By the way, let me know if green tea ice cream is popular where you are or if it's just a Hawaii thing. But it is really good and although it probably isn't that healthy it makes me believe that I'm drinking something healthier than a coffee flavored frappuccino. I definitely recommend this if you like sweet green tea type flavors or if you love green tea ice cream!
4) Passion Iced Tea with 1/2 the sweetener
So I love this drink during the summer time because it justs seems like the perfect drink to have poolside to me. It is lighter and more sweet, naturally than other green and black teas and it has a fruity essence to it. I get mine with 1/2 the sweetener because I find that it is the perfect amount for me, but you can get it with no sweetener or the full pump of sweetener.
5) Iced Chai Tea Lattes
This is good because I am a huge tea drinker. Anyone who knows me knows that I love iced teas and tea in general, but when I need a heavier tea at night or in the wintertime I either get an iced chai tea latte or a hot chai tea latte. I love this because I can get calcium because of the milk (I'm not the hugest milk drinker) and it tastes nice and warm and spicy, which I love.

These are my favorite drinks from starbucks, let me know in the comments what your favorite drinks are! Also, subscribe if you want to see more of these top 5 blog posts. Also, for more blog posts about starbucks check out my starbucks makes me sad post from a week ago.

Let's recap the day

Hey guys!
So  you know what time it is! Time for another let's recap the day post! So today in all honesty, was not that interesting. It was one of those days that I just chilled and relaxed.
So I woke up at 8:00, which for me is sleeping in considering I am usually asleep at 9 and awake at 5:30-5:45 and last night I went to bed at 10:30 and slept until 8:00. I watched some Hawaii 5-0 this morning (monday's episode) and I don't know what I think of Hawaii 5-0 anymore. I usually like the episodes, but being in Hawaii I can tell where they film and it usually isn't the place where they say it is. Like in one episode my friend's beach house was a location, but instead of saying where it actually was they said it was Lahaina (maui). Plus the plots haven't been that interesting to me, but I'll still watch it because I like seeing where they film!
I did a little bit of room organization (let me know if you want a blog post on my organization tips) because I am trying to get my bedroom to be neater and less cluttered because you know what they say: "a cluttered space leads to a cluttered mind".
I watched more television and youtube videos. Nothing very interesting. Then for dinner my parents took me and my siblings out to Ryans to celebrate my sister's interview at a school (because it was her first interview and she did well). The food was so good (to read more about the food click here) and it was fun eating out because we usually cook or eat take out at home.

Funniest moment: At Ryan's they had a television with ESPN on. Me and my dad were watching the television and they started showing the bat flying around at the Marquette/Providence game and how all the players were scared and how the bat flew into a player. It was the funniest thing in the world because they showed a slow-mo of the bat flying into a player and him falling on the ground. It was hilarious. To see the clip of the bat click here

Best part of the day: I think that the best part of the day would be going to dinner at Ryan's because the salad I got there was so good! It totally made my day.

Worst part of the day: My mom was acting all weird and upset at me this morning, which was weird because I didn't do anything. But later she realized that she was acting angry at me because she had a dream that I did something bad and that she was upset because of what I did in that dream. It was pretty weird!

Health and fitness of the day

Hi everyone!
So it is time again for another health and fitness of the day post! So today I made better choices with my food (but it still is far from perfect) and I exercised more than I did yesterday. (For yesterday's health and fitness of the day post click here).
So let's start with food. For breakfast today I had a bowl of ramen with some spam and egg in it. It was really good and ramen is one of my favorite foods. For a snack between breakfast and lunch, I had some frozen blueberries. I had put some blueberries in the freezer during breakfast to try and make them colder thinking that I was going to eat them right after breakfast, but I forgot so I ate them frozen as a snack instead. They were good too and I'll probably be eating more frozen blueberries in the future. For lunch (this is the unhealthy part of my day) I had a chicken sandwich from burger king with some onion rings. My parents brought this home for lunch, but that was okay because I don't have fast food too often. I had a organic lemon lollypop as a snack in the afternoon and some diet coke. For dinner (my favorite meal of the day) we went out to Ryan's and I got a seared ahi salad with wasabi vinaigrette. It had avocado and tomatoes and cucumbers in it (along with lettuce and the ahi) and it was so good. It was also really healthy because it was vegetables and fish and it was really filling as well. For dessert my parents and me split a slice of key lime pie so I had 1/3 of it. That was really good as well because it was rich so I didn't need to eat a lot to feel satisfied.
So fitness wise today I continued with all of the small exercises (like how I did yesterday) and I did some handstands and other easy tumbling stuff for fun. I also rode the stationary bike at my house for 20 minutes. I hadn't rode it in a while so I did the full 20 minutes at a medium pace, but hopefully once I get back into the groove of it I'll start doing interval training with it or longer periods of time or higher intensity. I'll update you with all of that in future health and fitness of the day posts!

Let's recap the day

Hey everyone!
So I think that today was a really good day! I am so excited to write todays post because I feel like there are lots of things worth mentioning. But before, I start, I just wanted to mention that my health and fitness of the day blog post is up so you should check that out!
So once again I had math at 7:30. That isn't too interesting. Actually, it didn't get interesting until the end of the day, but I'll go over the uninteresting things as well I guess. So in english at 11:30 our teacher was reading us a story and it was pretty boring. It was one of those stories that doesn't have too much action so when you are listening to it you can sort of feel yourself slowly falling to sleep. It was so hard to stay awake in that class!
Fast forward to 1:30 or so. I had a break and I finally got to play some card games with my friends. Usually when people are playing card games it is the boys and they are just too good at the games we play. Like they will win 99/100 games and the one time I win, they say I won because I got dealt a better hand than them. So I got to play 99 and trumps with my friends oh and another friend was playing solitaire and he was just so bad at it. Like every game he couldn't make one move because he dealt it that bad. It was hilarious.
So hands down the best part of my day was orchestra. We were playing this boring piece, but the people sitting around me started playing pranks on each other. If you have been in orchestra before, you know that violins and violas have these foam shoulder pads that they use to hold the violins/violas on their shoulder. We started putting these pads on people when they weren't paying attention. It doesn't sound that funny, but everyone started cracking up because some people were so zoned out that they didn't realize that the shoulder pad thing was on their head, their instrument, or their shoulders. Then the funniest part was when some guy went to use the bathroom, they moved his chair so when he came back, he didn't have a place to sit. It was so funny and I don't think that I am explaining it very well because I don't think that you guys will think that its that funny. Maybe it's one of those "you need to have been there to get it" type moments.
Last good thing that happened today. My Starbucks gold card finally came in the mail!!! (if you want to know the back story on that read starbucks makes me sad) I waited forever for my gold card. So I'm going to use it (a lot) in the upcoming days (and weeks).

Funniest moment: Definitely in orchestra when they took away the guys chair so when he came back he had nowhere to sit. (Totally one of those "you need to have been there to get it" moments)

Best part of the day: Orchestra! I was having a pretty downer day and orchestra was the pick me up I needed. Plus I got more than enough laugh time during the class & I got to see someone ;) Ohhhh, but also getting my starbucks card was also a good part of my day :D

Worst part of the day: Boring english class. That class made me feel tired for the rest of the day!

So let me know in the comments what your funniest moment, best, and worst part of the day was! And don't forget to follow my blog if you like these daily blog posts!

Health & Fitness of the day

Hey everyone!
So today is the first day of my "health and fitness of the day" series on my blog. If you want to read more about my dietary and fitness goals check out my blog post I did yesterday called "let's get my butt into shape". So basically these blog posts are going to include a recap of my dietary and fitness doings of the day.
Today didn't really have that much exercise in it. I tried doing small exercises during the day. For instance, I did lunges when I brushed my teeth, pushups and v-ups when I watched television and jogging in place, frog jumps, and jumping jacks when I was watching my youtube videos. (speaking of youtube videos check out my top 5 youtubers blog post!) I think that I did pretty well with my exercise, although it wasn't that strenuous and it still was pretty much a non-exercising day.
My diet today wasn't the greatest today either. I had a jamba juice and cereal for breakfast, which I think was pretty healthy considering what I usually eat (pastries, doughnuts, etc). For a snack, I had frozen grapes (yum!), which helped me up my intake of fruits for the day. For lunch I had leftover spicy eggplant and pork with rice that my mom made for dinner last night. It was really good (Let me know if you want the recipe for it). After lunch, I had ice cream. That was my one big splurge for the day. It was a mint chocolate chip ice cream cup, but on the bright side it was low fat and only 160 calories or something like that. For dinner I had chinese chicken salad that my mom made (also let me know if you want the recipe for this) and clam chowder. The clam chowder wasn't the healthiest, but I definitely ate more salad than soup tonight!
So overall I don't think that this was a great day, but I am a strong believer in change doesn't happen overnight. I think that this blog helps me keep myself motivated and hopefully it keeps you guys motivated to stay healthy as well. Subscribe if you like these health and fitness of the day blog posts and let me know in the comments a) what your health and fitness of the day was and b) if you would like any of the recipes that I mentioned above!
Thanks so much for reading this!

My month of magazines

Hey guys!
So the other day I did a blog post called my week of television shows. If you didn't read it, you totally should! So every month my family receives lots of magazines and I just wanted to share all of them and tell you what my favorite magazines are.
The Magazines are...
Consumer Report
Self
Glamour
People
Food Network Magazine
Seventeen
ESPN
Money
Vogue
Elle
Bon Apetite

Out of this group of magazines, the ones that I, personally, enjoy the most are:
1) Seventeen
filled full of health, fashion, beauty and love articles and advice, this magazine covers everything a teenage/young adult girl would enjoy!
2) Self
this is my motivation to improve myself. It gives workout and diet tips along with celeb interviews and beauty/fashion advice.
3) Glamour
this magazine is the older girls version of seventeen. More mature and geared towards older women, but still covers everything (makeup/fashion) that I love.
4) Consumer Report
people may think that this is a scam, and that the reports aren't that useful, but I love to see how to get the most bang for your buck even though I usually don't spend money on these products.

My least favorite magazines:
1) Money
this isn't my favorite magazine because frankly, I don't read it. My dad subscribes to this magazine (he's a CFO) and he likes to read all of these finance magazines.
2) ESPN
another of my dad's magazines. I am not a huge fan of NFL and MLB although I watch NBA religiously and I don't see this magazine as a huge "must read" for me.
3) Bon Apetite
this is my mom's magazines and it isn't as fun or young as the food network magazine (I like that one) so although the food looks good or better than the food in the food network magazine, I would read the food network magazine over bon apetite because it is easier to read because the food is more comical and fun.

Let me know what your month of magazines are!

Let's recap the day

Hey everyone!
So today had some major moments that I think I should share with y'all. So first off, I had math at 7:30 again. And you know how I took my math test yesterday, and I thought that I didn't do well. Well, it turns out that I was right because I got a 24/34. 10 points off is terrible. Then I had asian history and a break. It was awful because during my breaks I had to sit on air conditioning vents like a loner because it was raining (check out my weather blog post from earlier today). Then in advisory I got my report card. It was pretty good, 4 A's, 2 A-'s, and 1 B+. It isn't 4.0 GPA material, but for my standards I thought that it was really good. I had other classes and everything, but nothing is worth mentioning from those classes. Oh and the last thing that I think is worth mentioning in this section of the post is that I ate spumoni ice cream for dessert!

Funniest moment: watching someone slip and eat it on the sundial at school. It wasn't funny to them, but it sure was funny to me!

Best part of the day: Report card!!!

Worst part of the day: Getting my math test back

So let me know in the comments how your day was and what your funniest moment, best, and worst part of the day was. And don't forget to subscribe if you like these let's recap the day blog posts!

Let's whoop my butt into shape!

Hey guys!
So I want to start exercising on a regular basis again. I am a cheerleader, but currently besides yoga 2x a week and tumbling 2x a week I am pretty much a huge couch potato. Spring and summer are right around the corners and I, like all you other girls out there, want to look good in those bright colors and short shorts. So starting today I thought that I would share with you some changes that I will be making in my life.

Dietary changes:
1) eat more foods with fiber
I am one of those people who needs either a lot of food to keep me full or a small amount of filling food. I want to eat more fiber (natural fiber that is) to keep me fuller longer. Also, fiber is really good for your body as well. To achieve this I am going to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.
2) snack less!
I am a huge snacker. I can go home and eat a whole bag of popcorn and still be hungry. This messes up my appetite for dinner and I end up eating more that I (or anyone) should. I am going to fix this by eating more foods with fiber (see above) and also chewing gum. I think that chewing gum will help because I need to have something in my mouth, but that doesn't mean that it has to be food!
3) drink more!
And I don't mean alcohol. I want to drink more tea, water, coffee, diet coke, anything. I know that diet coke can be bad for your health, but I am usually pretty dehydrated because I don't drink too much during the day and I think that if drinking diet coke or any of the other drinks will help me stay more hydrated I should do it. Also, it will help with me snacking/eating less because I sometimes mistake hunger for thirst so I eat when I really should be drinking.

Fitness related:
1) weight train more
I know that there are a lot of women out there who are like "I'd rather do cardio than lift weights" and although I agree that cardio is important, weight training is just as or even more important. Weight training helps build bone density, muscles, and some people say that it can even boost your metabolism. I am going to work on my upper bodys with curls and presses, but I may do squats and lunges to work out my lower body.
2) Fit in small exercises
I want to make it a habit to, when I'm at home, do lunges, squats, frog jumps, jumping jacks, push ups, tricep dips, v-ups, sit ups or other easy exercises when I have free time. Most of my time is spent sitting down watching tv or reading magazines so when I am doing them I am going to make an effort to do one of the exercises listed above.

So those are my dietary and fitness related goals! Let me know what your goals are and how you plan on sticking with them. Also, I am going to be posting another blog post daily (starting tomorrow) on my dietary and fitness doings of the day. Hopefully that will keep you motivated seeing me succeed or fail right along with you!

weather update: rain is not my best friend

Hey guys!
So I am actually in English right now (I'm bad, right?) but I just wanted to do another weather update (like the one I did earlier this week). So in the morning it was cold, not like New York or Alaska cold, but Hawaii cold (so around 66°). Then it started raining at 9:00, right when my first break of the day started. Rain is fine, and actually, I quite like it, but when the library is so overflowed by girls afraid of getting wet and guys chasing those girls I am downgraded to huddling under an awning on air conditioning vents. Then we had to walk to chapel with our heavy bags and other stuff and the quickest way there is through the field. Although it was raining, I didn't think that it would be as muddy as it was. I was wrong. I have mud everywhere. Then after chapel I had to walk to english (where I am now) and it was pouring and I didn't have an umbrella so everything in my open bag (I have a tote bag without a clasp) got wet and so did my hair and my clothes.
Let me know how it is where you are!

Let's recap the day

Hey guys!
So today was an interesting day. First, I had a math test at 7:30 how fun is that? Okay so during the test the proctor is coming around to everyone asking who their teacher is, but I don't know how to pronounce the name of my math teacher. It's Lian or something like that, but I didn't know if it was pronounced like Lion or Liane or something like that. So I just said something like Lee-an and he sort of knew what I meant but it was pretty embarrassing.
Then I had other classes and uninteresting things. Okay so in my Asian History class my classmate was sick and my teacher started telling us about how he wrote and email to all his teachers saying how he threw up 20 times in Neiman Marcus so he is unable to come to school today. It was the funniest story ever! Especially because my teacher was like "why didn't he say he was sick" and "that was totally TMI".
So other things worth mentioning today. My brother is still sick, which means there are still germs everywhere in my house. A bird almost attacked me when I was walking to my locker. The boys that I hang out with were playing trumps (the card game) and blasting music during the breaks so that was fun, and I got to talk to someone that I haven't talked to in a while.

Funniest moment: The story that my teacher told me in Asian History

Best part of the day: Definitely hanging out with my friends, listening to music, playing cards, and talking during my breaks

Worst part of the day: Having to care for my brother. He's annoying enough without having me fetch him things every 10 minutes!

Let me know what your funniest moment, best, and worst part of the day was today! And don't forget to subscribe if you want to see more of these let's recap the day blog posts!

top 5: youtubers!

Hey guys!
So I'm going to start a new weekly series on my blog called top 5. This is going to cover my favorites from everything like television shows, movies, youtubers, and workouts! So today I thought that it would be fun to do youtubers.
Here are my top 5 favorite youtubers!
1) Blair Fowler aka juicystar07
She was the first youtuber that I found and I still love her videos! She doesn't post videos too often anymore, but I still love every video that she does. Also check out my review on her and Elle's (see #3) snowkissed cashmere palette from their skylark line.
2) Nikki Phillippi aka nikkiphillippi
She is one of my favorites because she is so consistant with the videos that she posts. On her main channel its monday wednesday and friday and other the other channel it is monday-friday. I love her videos because they cover topics that I like and I am in love with her how to be happy january videos!
3) Elle Fowler aka allthatglitters21
She is the calmer side of Blair (see #1) and although hers and her sisters videos are similar, I love elle's videos because they are more mature and the makeup that she does tutorials on are more sultry and older looking.
4) Allison aka amarixe
I like Allison's videos because they are short and informative. I love her tutorials because unlike other makeup gurus her videos are usually less than 10 minutes, but still beautiful. I also love her other channel because they cover other things that I, myself, am interested in such as her tea time videos.
5) Emily Eddington aka emilynoel83
Emily recently did her Emily Awards series on her youtube channel. These are my favorite videos of hers because they give her favorite drugstore and high end makeup products in multiple categories. Her videos are so professional because she used to be a news anchor and I love all of her videos, especially her reviews.

Honorable mentions:
Eleventhgorgeous
Missglamorazzi
Macbarbie07

Let me know in the comments what your top 5 youtubers are and let me know what other top 5 topics you would like to see on my blog!

My week of TV shows

Hey guys!
So anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with TV shows. So today I decided to list the shows that I make an effort to watch every week. BTW I record most of these shows on my cable or on hulu so I can watch it later.

Monday:
Castle
Hawaii 5-O

Tuesday:
Dance Moms
The Lying Game
Pretty Little Liars
New Girl

Wednesday:
The Middle
Modern Family
Top Chef

Thursday:
The Office
1600 Penn
Scandal

Friday:
nothing

Saturday:
nothing

Sunday:
American Dad
Family Guy
Bob's Burgers

Total: 15 shows / 11 hours

I know it seems like a lot, but most of the time I watch these shows when working out or while doing homework or when eating so I don't spend 11 hours a week solely watching TV. Out of all these shows my favorites are The Office, Scandal, Castle, Dance Moms, Pretty Little Liars, and American Dad.
Let me know how much TV you watch each week and what shows are your favorite! Also, I think I'm going to post more blogs on who I think A is from Pretty Little Liars after each episode so subscribe so you'll be the first to know when these are posted!

Let's recap the day

Hey everyone!
So before I forget, I wanted to do a recap of the day. So, I went to school early because I had a 7:30 class. Geometry. That was soooo fun. Then I had a long break, yoga, history and I was done with school. My brother is still sick (for more info on that stuff check out my how to stay healthy blog post!) and my sister wasn't feeling so well either. I had cheerleading practice after school today and for all you gymnasts/cheerleaders I got my roundoff back handspring step out roundoff back handspring in one day!!!

Funniest moment today: my friend comes up to me and puts out her hand with nothing in it and says "look I give a f_ _ _, oh no! it flew away! I don't give a flying f_ _ _. Awww it's gone. I don't give a f_ _ _." It was so weird and I couldn't stop laughing at her.

Best part of today: Definitely cheerleading and trying/getting my roundoff back handspring step out roundoff back handspring. It was easier than I thought and it is great because I can make my tumbling passes longer!

Worst part of today: Tomorrow! I have a math test that I need to start studying for and my schedule is jam packed! I think that I have 7 classes!

Let me know in the comments how your day went and what your funniest moment, best part of today, and worst part of today was.

80° in Hawaii? feels more like 90°

Hey guys!
So I'm at school right now and actually I ended school half an hour ago. So I am here chillin with my friends but it is so hot! I know that this is Hawaii and it's supposed to be sunny, but recently it has been overcast and even earlier today it was rainy so I didn't expect it to be this hot. The weird part about all of this is when the wind blows, the air is cool, but when I'm sitting on these benches and at these tables outside it feels really, really, hot. I think that this is because there isn't too many clouds and it's not really windy, and I'm not in shade. But still, do you guys ever get the feeling that it is hotter/colder than it actually is? Because that's the feeling I have right now!
So I hope this little weather update from "paradise" doesn't damper your days and I hope you all are having fun in the snow/cold!

TJ Maxx Yoga pants haul

Hey guys!
So if you saw my "how to stay healthy" post you know that I am doing yoga for PE at school. And if you didn't read that post, you should! So anyway I went to TJ Maxx today to get some pants for yoga because the ones that I had were getting a little raggedy and gross. When I go to yoga I wear a V neck tee shirt and a pair of yoga pants. These pairs of pants that I got are capri length and both of them are black. One has a white band at the top and the other has ruching down the leg. Both of these pants were $14.99 and both of them are by the brand Avia. I got both of these pairs for $30 when originally the pants were $30 each. This was a great deal!
Let me know if you do yoga and what you like to wear to yoga!

starbucks makes me sad

Hey guys!
So anyone who knows me knows that I am in love with starbucks. So recently I used my card enough to get a gold card. This was in November, and now it is January and I still don't have my gold card. It wasn't supposed to take this long and I don't get why it isn't here yet. Also, on my other card (not the gold card) I was supposed to have a free drink on it, but I couldn't use it because it was loaded onto the gold card I don't have or something like that.
Then today, I went to starbucks and I ordered an iced caramel machiatto, layered. I don't get how you can mess that up because it seems like a pretty normal drink order, but what did the barista give me? Milk and espresso with ice. None of the sweetener that it should have had and none of the caramel. I was going to bring it back, but the line was really long and wasn't moving so I was like "just forget it" and left.
This is just a rant and although it may seem like I'm badmouthing starbucks, I still love it and I am just upset over what has happened to me.
Let me know if any of you have had similar incidents

how to stay healthy

Hey guys!
So just to update you on recent events in my life, my brother is sick with a virus or something like that, my mom was sick last week with the same thing my brother has, and my sister is sick with a cold. In a house of sick people, it can be hard to stay healthy. Here are some of my tricks that I do to try and stay healthy. Keep in mind, what works for me may not work for you and I am not a doctor so do these things at your own risk.
1) I have upped my intake of nutrients. I've been having smoothies every day for either a snack or breakfast. I put orange juice (vitamin C) blueberries (antioxidants) frozen strawberries (more vitamin C) and bananas (potassium) and ice in it. I think this helps keep me healthy because although vitamin C doesn't keep you from getting sick, it helps you recover from the sickness in less time.
2) I try to de-stress. I have been doing yoga a couple days a week because I am taking a yoga class for PE. I think that this helps me because I can spend 1 1/2 hours every other day and clear my head. This helps me de-stress because I am not worrying about everything else in my life. De-stressing keeps you healthy because stress is a toxin to your body and compromises your immune system.
3) I get enough sleep. I sleep from 10-6 so I get around 8 hours. This is my ideal amount of sleep and I think that it keeps me healthy. I don't think that you need to sleep for 8 hours, but sleep enough so that you are well rested. Having enough sleep is important for your health because it allows your body to recover from the day and rebuild cells and stay in tip top shape.
This is what I do to stay healthy, let me know what you do in the comments below!

Les Mis!

So me and my mom went to see Les Mis yesterday. OMG that movie was so good. I know that a lot of people didn't like the movie as much as the actual broadway show, but since I haven't seen the show I thought that it was amazing. Seriously though, like who knew Anne Hathaway could sing like that? Not me! Also, Hugh Jackman was amazing and I thought Sacha Baron Cohen was hilarious and amazing too. That movie was amazing and I think that it deserves all the awards and press that it has received. Also, the girl who plays Eponine sings On My Own so good! I was crying during that part and actually most of the movie I was crying or tearing up. LOL.
So let me know what you thought of Les Miserables and what your favorite song was!
