Sprained fingers are fun

Hey everyone!
So I'm posting on the blogger mobile app so I'm not quite sure how this will end up looking but as you can probably tell I sprained my finger! It's not the most exciting story ever but I thought that why not share it with you guys! So that's what I'm doing!
So at cheer 2 days ago we were tumbling. I am totally that person who tires easy and doesn't like to do a lot of back handsprings especially standing. So when we did a lot I started to lose focus and my hand went straight into the ground fingers first! It was awful and it hurt and we were doing cheers afterward and it was so hard to make a fist! Then we stunted and we did elevator full downs and my finger got smashed during the cradle. So now it's swollen and bruised...
That's the story of my sprained finger! Let me know if you like these random storyish posts in the comments!

In Music I have i heart radio, spotify, shazam, and pandora. In my Pic Stuff folder I have instacollage, instaeffects, aviary, and camera +. I also have bloglovin! In my games folder I have candy crush and minion rush. Pinterest, period tracker, ESPN, and Sleep tracker fill out the page.

Some Nutrition Inspiration

Hey everyone!
I've been super into doing these photo inspiration posts so I thought I'd do one on my nutrition inspiration!

I've been loving oatmeal and this looks super yummy with the nuts and fruit on it! I usually just go for plain oatmeal with a banana, but this looks so delish!

Baked sweet potatoes with a corn salsa and cheese! It is better than a regular potato because its a sweet potato and by subbing the corn for bacon, you save calories!

Quinoa is one of my favorite foods and this quinoa salad with tons of vegetables look amazing!

Rice with back beans and corn! It looks so yummy!

I have been thinking of possible things to bring for lunch to school! And this looks amazing and it has tons of different variations! Except I'd put my dressing separate from the jar.

So that was my nutrition inspiration! If you like these posts, let me know in the comments and don't forget to subscribe to this blog for more nutrition and fitness posts!

Desk Organization!

Hey everyone!
I organized my desk and rearranged a lot yesterday and I want to do another what's on my desk type post!

Okay! So starting on the left and going to the right. In the back I have a mini file thing. In the bottom I have wallflowers and the top 2 have school supplies. The top one has pencils. One of the containers on the desk has mini notepads and a mirror and another container has pens and pencils. I also have a sticky note and lock. I have my television in the back and my laptop in the front. Next to the tv there is a fan and next to it there are 2 birchbox containers for storage under my bag. I also have some small containers for random stuff, tape, my retainer, and some lip balms. This is so much better because I have more room on my desk and its so much neater!

Let me know what you think of this organization in the comments!

How to balance School and Sports

Hey everyone!
I know that a lot of you have already gone back to school, but I thought that I'd start my school series later rather than never. So I'll do some makeup and organization things on my other blog and I'll do some advice posts on this blog. Todays post will deal with how to balance school and sports.

I am a cheerleader. I am on JV and not varsity, but I think that the tricks that I use to balance it would work well for club sports, JV, and Varsity. I first want to start out by saying that I challenge myself educationally. I'm not trying to stereotype or anything, but I know lots of people who put athletics over academics and I am not one of those people. I'm taking 1 honor class and 2 AP classes this year! So here are my top 5 tips on how to balance school and sports.

1) Stay Organized
Use a planner or agenda or something! If you can schedule your practices, games, and homework assignments  you can work on time management and you can realize what you have to do and by when.
2) Prioritize
I know that sometimes people try to put a social life first or athletics first, but if you have a huge project due and you have some team bonding thing, I would suggest trying to realize what your priorities are and trying to focus on whats important.
3) Utilize every moment
If you have 15 minutes before practice, do math homework! If you have some random breaks during the school day, use those to do some homework too!
4) Make learning fun
I know that it may be tempting to facebook late at night after a practice rather than do homework, but remember that as an athlete you don't have the time that most other people have to do homework! With that being said, try to make homework enjoyable and fun.
5) Give yourself some slack
Make sure to have some fun! Don't take life too seriously :D

So that were my 5 tips on how to balance school and sports! If you have any other tips, leave them in a comment below!

Some Fitness Inspiration

Hey everyone!
I've been really into these inspiration type posts lately and I'll have another one on this blog soon and a couple on my other blog. I can do another post linking all of them once I get them up! But this is my fitness inspiration...

I used to be a dancer, but I gave that up for cheerleading, but this picture is so gorgeous and makes me miss dancing!

I am not the biggest cardio person, but I am so motivated to run when I see pictures like this!

Another picture that inspires me to run and exercise more often.

An amazing quote and a picture that inspires me to focus on flexibility and work hard on stretching every day.

I took yoga last year during school, but I haven't practiced it in a while! This picture makes it fun and I need to do it more often!

So that was some of my fitness inspiration! I'll do another one on food and nutrition later! Leave a comment below if you like these posts because I can totally do them more often!

I'm the next Top Hooker! Just Kidding

Hey everyone!
So if the title totally confused you, I was referencing one of my favorite television shows every: top hooker! It was a show on the animal planet and it was a reality competition to find the top angler or fisherman. So let's get into my random story...
Today we went to one of my favorite beaches! It is a tidal pool so it has a nice mix of rocks and sand so that my family could swim and stuff. I love catching fish and other animals and I always have so my dad and I were running around the beach trying to catch some fish! The tide was really high at first and it was kind of rough so we were using nets, but once the tide went down, we could use poles. We used just the top half of the pole and we didn't use the spinner, but we just dunked. For bait, we were using defrosted previously frozen shrimp, french fries, and bread because this is totally what fish in the wild eat! We actually caught some good sized fish and the first one we caught totally caught me off guard because it was huge (not that huge, but bigger than I thought it would be maybe like 4 inches long?)! If you are a top hooker fan like me, you'll get this reference but I was screaming so much when I caught that fish totally like how Chris was all the time!
So yeah you can just call me "top hooker"! But really, I love fishing and I realized that i need to do it more often :D

Cheesecake Factory, Birthday Parties, and MORE! Let's recap the day

Hey everyone!
So I had a birthday party today and I thought that it was an interesting enough day to do a let's recap the day post! So lets get started...

I woke up early and ate breakfast and all that stuff. I dropped off my sister at ballet class and went to Ross with my mom. She found some things she loved, and I found a lint lizard on sale for $3. Score! Then we went to are local shopping mall because the old navy was having a $15 jeans sale, but unfortunately none of the ones I tried fit well! They were either too huge or too small. :( I ate lunch at a sushi place and had a super yummy iced tea. I got home and did some blogging and took a power nap. I met my friend at the aquarium because we were having a surprise party for antother of my friend, but she didn't come until 45 minutes later, when the aquarium was closed. We walked around for a while and then ate dinner at the Cheesecake Factory! It was so delicious and super yummy! We had some great conversations and we split a Chinese chicken salad, a kalua pork pizza, and a shrimp angel hair pasta between the 5 of us. We also got a mini ice cream sundae for free because it was her birthday and we got a cheesecake too! It was the fresh strawberry one :D

So that was pretty much it! Don't forget to follow this blog for more lets recap the day posts and leave a comment below letting me know how your day was!

Back Pain

Hey everyone!
So I am a cheerleader and I've had back pain for a while so I went to a pediatric sports injury doctor today. I know lots of cheerleaders suffer from this and don't want to recieve help, so I'll share what she told me because it might help others!

So my pain was in the middle of my back. She said if it's in the lower part of the back it can be a stress fracture, but for me, my pain is called by uneven tension in my back. The left side is tighter, which pulls my spine out of alignment and causes pain. This is caused by either too much stress on the back or core and shoulder weakness (so the back works harder). I have a few exercises that I need to do every other day so I'll also share those with you!

1) Planks!
Front and side 3 sets of 30 seconds (increase time when it becomes too easy)

2) Leg raises
Lie on side, flex foot and raise leg up and down (3 sets of 10 reps)

3) Bridges
Lie on back, knees bent. Lift butt of ground and hold for 10 seconds. (3 sets of 10 reps)

4) Wall angles
Stand with back to wall and arms out to sides and elbows bent. Raise arms above head and return to start. (3 sets of 10 reps)

5) Lower Trapezius Raise
Lie on stomach and lift arms up with thumbs upwards. Lift arms up and lower. (3 sets of 10 reps)

6) Wall pushes
Stand facing wall with arms on wall. Lower trunk by using shoulders (not elbows) and return to start. (3 sets of 10 reps).

So I hope this is helpful to some people! Also, my doctor says that cracking your back by having someone step or push on it is fine! My mom got pretty mad when she heard that ;D

It's My Birthday!

Hey everyone!
I am super excited today because its my birthday! I am crazy busy today because I have registration for school (like when I get my schedules and locker) and I also have cheerleading practice. I don't really know if I'm going to do a haul on my birthday presents because I feel like on one hand, it's interesting and is something I would like to see from others, but because I didn't buy it with my own money, it can be seen as a little "braggy". Let me know in the comments what your thoughts on it are! Its been so crazy and something that I do every year is my 5 goals to accomplish before the next year. Sort of like new years resolutions, but different! So I thought I could share mine with you!

1) Get over 1900 on my SATs!
Lets be honest this one is so nerdy! But SATS are so important this year for me and I am going to be happy if I get above a 1900! BTW on my practice SATs I score around 1960

2) Love and Be Loved
This is so cheesy! But I don't mean this romantically, I just want to strengthen my friendships and surround myself with good influences this year because last year was a little cray cray (crazy).

3) Get my license!
Technically I could have gotten it today, but I am a huge procrastinator and I haven't even gotten my permit! I better get on it! LOL

4) Hang out with friends at least 3 weekends out of a month!
Last year I was so school involved and I didn't really schedule in time to go shopping or to the movies with friends so I need to do that this year!

5) Have no regrets
I want to live everyday to the fullest and enjoy my junior year in high school! It only happens once!

So that was my birthday ramblings! Let me know what you think of the birthday haulin in the comments!

Love you all :D

Cali and Vegas Food Haul!

Hey everyone!
I got a few food things on my trip, and I thought that I'd do a haul on this because I have lots of snacks that I bought!

From Vegas
I got Cinnamon Bagel Chips from Karen's Gourmet. It is so delicious and yummy, but a word of caution: if you're traveling by plane and bringing this home, carry it on instead of checking it because it'll break a lot if you check it. If you wanted to get this, go to the Las Vegas Casino! They also have tons of different flavors, but this one is my favorite!
M&Ms! I got this from the M&M world! I got some mint ones, dark chocolate, and minis!

From Cali
I got a thing of Roasted Pistachio Toffee from Trader Joes! I love this stuff so much and I don't have a Trader Joes at home and it is so delicious! I also got some ghirardelli chocolates from Ghirardelli square in San Francisco. I also have some other random chocolates.

So that was my food haul! Let me know if you love bagel chips too in the comments if you'd like!

Jockey Workout Clothes Haul

Hey everyone!
When I was at the outlets in Las Vegas, I went to a Jockey store and they were having a great sale. So I bought some sports bras. I know that this is kind of a weird haul and post, but let's be honest girls. Having cute sports bras to wear makes working out so much more fun!

I got a green and a pink bra. I am in love with the pink one because I felt like I was the only girl ever who didn't have a pink sports bra! Like what in the world! I also love the green one because it was so pretty. I also got these on a great sale because they were originally $30 each, but on sale they were $9 each, but with the sale that they were having, I got them for $7 each! Yay!

So that was my weird, random, sports bra haul! Let me know if cute workout clothes makes working out fun for you, because it does for me!

So long Nevada!

Hey guys!
It's been a while since my last update, but I've been in Las Vegas these past few days looking at colleges and shopping a lot, but tomorrow morning, I'm flying back home. I don't have a ton of time to write this post, but I'll share 3 things that I've loved and done in Vegas with you!

1) shopping!
The factory outlets are great over here and I would especially recommend the south outlets over the north as they have more stores and is inside! Tons of hauls are coming on my other blog (second tab at the top) in the next few weeks!

2) the coke store on the strip
Today we went there and tried the Sosa from around the world thing. It is not the best tasting, but its an experience!

3) the gondola
I loved riding the gondola and I trout that it was tons of fun!

So I hope you enjoyed this update! And I'll be sure to post more when I get back home!

Are you afraid of Splash Mountain?

Hey everyone!
So I'm at disneyland right now and I wanted to share with you a little secret that I have been using. First, I have to get something off my chest. I'm a huge scaredy cat and I never went on tower of terror or splash mountain until last year. I hate that feeling of dropping and while for some rides (like tower of terror) that feeling is inevitable, I have a trick to stop that queasy, dropping feeling on splash mountain!
For all of you unaware, on splash mountain, you are in logs with no seat belts. I am really freaked out that I'm going to fly out of it on that big 50 foot drop so I end up squishing my knees into the seat in front of me so I'm wedged in there, but that isn't necessary. Before I give you my secret, I have one more thing to say... It's going to make you look retarded. In the pictures at the end of the ride, you're going to be laughed at and mocked, but that's alright because you just survived the ride! Right? So when you are getting to the top of the final drop, you place your head down onto the back portion of the seat in front of you. This stops your equilibrium from thinking that your falling and gives you less or none of that stomach queasiness!
Let me know if you knew of this trick or are planning to try it out soon in the comments below!

Health and Fitness update

Hey everyone!
It's been a while since I've done a health or fitness lasted post, so I wanted to do an update to let you know what I've been up to!

Fitness
So I have a little break from cheerleading and I'm on vacation now so you'd think I'd be super sedentary and lazy, right? Nope! I am walking around a ton for sightseeing and everything. I have also gone to the gyms in the hotels as often as I can, and I run a mile on either the elliptical or the treadmill and do some abs and weights. It's not a lot, but I think it's a pretty good amount of exercise!

Nutrition
This is where I get unhealthy. I have been eating out a lot and I've been eating tons of burgers and unhealthy foods. It is vacation so I'm giving myself some leeway, but I'm trying to load up on fruits and oatmeal at breakfast whenever I can!

So I hope this was interesting for you! Let me know ow your fitness and health related things are going in the comments because I'd love to be able to get motivation and ideas from you all!
