Inspirational Quotes of the Week #3

Hi y'all!
So it is another sunday funday, which means that its time for my next inspirational quotes of the week post! This week has been crazy for me because I've been feeling more rebellious, edgy, and killer, which I think has impacted my quotes. This week, theres none of the cutesy quotes. All of these are killer, motivational, no bull$h!t stuff! So lets get started!

Later this week, I'll post a very personal post on my life for the past couple months and I think that this quote fits well with that post. I think its easy to let the small things knock you down and I think its even easier to stay down, but hardships prepare ordinary people for extraordinary destiny!

I think that in a lot of my friends and my life, now is a time of stress and struggle because its the end of a quarter and people are going through different life milestones and this quote is just so meaningful and great.

This is a KICK@$$ quote! This is a no BULL$H!T, and no excuse quote. I think that people need to take responsibility for themselves and take action and this quote, is freaking awesome at that.

So those were my inspirational quotes of the week! Let me know if you have inspirational quotes that you'd like to share with me and also, let me know which quote is your favorite!

My Diet Tips

Hey everyone!
I wanted to do a post on some of my diet tips! I first want to start off with a disclaimer that I am not a doctor, I do not promote unhealthy dieting or anything like that, and that this is what I personally do, but you do not need to do this if you don't want to! Also, this isn't a crash diet, but rather a way to change the way you eat so you lose a little bit of weight. So lets get started.

Tip #1: Count some calories!
I don't mean count all your calories all the time, but if you are a snacker, count the calories that you eat as snacks, or if you drink a lot of other drinks (other than water), count those calories. By doing this, you'll get a reality check to how many calories you consume without even realizing it! Like for me, I used to be really into juice, but those have lots of calories so I started cutting it out!
Tip #2: Make realistic goals
Your goal should be something acheivable! Don't make it a goal to lose 20 pounds n a month when you know you'll have to literally starve yourself or cut off a limb to attain it! Instead make goals based on nutrition (i.e. I'll eat 7 fruits or vegetables every day), how you'll feel (I want to feel healthier and have more energy in a month), or weight (I want to lose 3 pounds in a month).
Tip #3: Stay Hydrated
Some people stop drinking as much water as they should when they diet. This is BAD! If you stay hydrated, you know you're not losing "water weight" and you help your body stay healthy and work better.
Tip #4: Cheat
Give yourself one cheat per day! Don't go all out with this cheat and eat a whole pizza, but if you give yourself a splurge a day like maybe a scoop of ice cream or a piece of candy, you'll be less likely to binge on this stuff later! Another thing is that if you want a bigger splurge like a burger and fries, save your mini splurges for a week and go all out on a meal!
Tip #5: Motivate yourself
I can't tell you how to do this, because I think its different for everybody, but for me, I like to go to websites with celebrity heights and weights and exercise routines and look at that because it gives me the push to put down the carton of ice cream or go outside and run. I know that people may think this is pro anorexia or something, but I think that these can be used in a healthy way too. You could also keep a food journal to keep yourself accountable, but I think that motivation is key!
Tip #6: Portion sizes
Sometimes at restaurants  they'll give you double the portion of what you should eat so eat until you're full rather than whatever is on the plate. I personally struggle with this, but if you take your leftovers home, you'll have food for the next day!
Tip #7: Exercise
This is a no brainer, but you really can't lose weight without exercise because you do need to burn off the excess calories that you consume and some more so you have a calorie deficit each day, which lets you lose weight. I'll do another post on my exercise tips soon!

So this is just my personal thoughts. Once again, please don't leave hateful comments or anything like that because I think dieting is something that everyone goes through at some point in life and I think that this is a better alternative than starving yourself or anything like that. If you have any other diet tips, leave them below and don't forget to follow this blog for more health and fitness posts!

Music Favorites

Hey everyone!
I've been in kind of a funk lately and I've been using music as sort of a way to get out of it. I've always like EDM (electro dance music), but I have been listening to a sh!tload of Skrillex lately, which lets be honest, is a musician that a lot of people wouldn't think I'd like. And it's true I don't like Skrillex... I love it! So this music favorites post is going to be way different from the rest of the others I've done, but hey! Change is good! So lets get started!

Avicii - Wake Me up
I love this song! Its like a feel good song and it has been playing on the radio a lot where I live and I think that everybody needs to listen to this song at least once because it is EDM at like its finest!

Any Skrillex song...
So I have pretty much listened to any and all skrillex songs lately, but I'll give you my top 5 I guess because I do have a few favorites! These 5 aren't in any particular order by the way! Kyoto, Rock and Roll (will take you to the mountain), Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, Kill Everybody, and Summit.

Don Omar - Danza Kuduro
Okay so going along with my different music picks, I have a spanish/portuguese song for you guys! This song is sung in spanish, but it is so catchy and amazing!

Awolnation - Sail
Another dubstepy song, but this one is totally more popular and I'm sure you've all heard this at one time or another!

So those were my music favorites of the moment! Let me know what yours are in the comments below and follow me on twitter because I post about random stuff in my life all the time!

Sad Days

Hey everyone!
So honestly I haven't felt like myself in around a month when I dislocated my shoulder. At school I've been the same person, positive, happy, bubbly, whatever, but at home I was quiet, standoffish, and angry all the time. Today my mom was yelling at me about my shoulder because I was cleared today and I am so freaked out to tumble again, but she doesn't get it. For me, I was always the girl that could do whatever I needed to and I never had a mental block, but I am so petrified and freaked out that I'm going to injure myself again. I think that this injury impacted me mentally and physically and emotionally and it got really overwhelming, but I kept it all in to myself. I let it build up and today I broke and I had probably one of my worst breakdowns ever. I was literally sobbing on my bathroom floor for 15 minutes straight before I could get myself into the shower. The point of me sharing this with you guys is not for sympathy or worry or anything like that, but I wanted to show that I'm human too and I have bad days like this sometimes. I also think that it is important not to let stuff like this down and to keep moving forward. I coped with this by blogging my ass off tonight (4 posts, whoop whoop!) and tweeting y'all (you should follow me btw!) And I think that while crying and letting emotions out is healthy and good, you can't let yourself stay in that sad place because you'll slowly start losing your motivation. I hope that a lot of you can relate to this post, and I'll be doing happier posts in the next few days!
Love you all!

Scariest Thing TAG!

Hey everyone!
With Halloween coming up soon, I thought that it would be fun to do the Scariest Thing TAG!

1. Scariest real-life experience?
Nothing particularly scary ever happens to me! Maybe the most would be driving to Morgan's Corner at nighttime. For all of you non Hawaii people it is the site of a gruesome murder in the 1950s and a urban scary story.
2. Scariest paranormal experience?

There are supposed ghosts in my school, and I have seen a couple of the "legendary ones" before, such as a shadow of a woman in the big hall at my school when no one was blocking the light. I'm still convinced that it was not a ghost, though.
3. Have you ever known anyone convicted of a violent crime?

No, thankfully I have not!
4. Are you afraid of the dark? Why or why not?

It depends. If I am in my room or in my house then not so much, but if I'm in the wilderness or somewhere that you'd see in a horror movie, the I will totally imagine things and get really freaked out in the dark!
5. Does your hometown have any scary stories or legends?

Yes! There are these things called Night Marchers, which are old Hawaiian Kings and things. They are ghosts that march through the night and play drums and stuff. If you hear them and you don't run far, far away, they will come after you and kill you!
6. What is your favorite urban legend?

Bloody Mary is a total classic! There was a really creepy bathroom in my middle school where we tried it, but nothing ever happened.
7. What is your scariest nightmare?

I have really scary nightmares about being chased by a serial killer or something, but I never die or anything like that in my dreams. I just keep running and I always end up killing the killer instead!

So I would love to hear your responses to these questions, so leave them in the comments below! Let's all be scared together!

Quarter Finals!!!

Hey everyone!
I am super stressed out right now because my quarter finals are all this week! It is so stressful and I don't even really know why I'm doing this post, but I think I'm just going to rant and let it out or whatever. So I guess my schedule is like tuesday I have my AP Bio test and my Child Development Psychology test, then wednesday I have a Spanish Oral, then thursday I have nothing, but friday I have a AP US History test and a Math test. Also my cheerleading competition is on friday and all this is so crazy and stressful and so much! I just wanted to do a post on this because I am not going to be writing posts this week, I will keep uploading the posts that I have pre-wrote, but I am not going to be super active on any of my blogs or social media this week! Sorry! So yeah, thats whats going on in my life right now!
Love you guys!

Inspirational Quotes of the Week #2 ♡

Hey everyone!
This is the second inspirational quote post! If you haven't seen last week's post, I'll link it here for you! So this week I've been feeling stressed and down and I think I'll go over all that in my next post, and I needed some motivational and inspiring quotations to get me through the week! So here are my three favorites!
This first quote is so amazing! It is from Albert Einstein and the premise of it is pretty much that everyone has their own thing and that no two people can be compared because they are amazing and incredible in their different ways! I also think that the analogy in this is so funny with the fish and the tree!

Another lovely quote! This one is by Roald Dahl and it focuses on beauty, which has been one of my insecure areas this past few weeks. I haven't been cheering as much because I am injured and I have struggled with my body image and feeling like I'm eating so dang much and not working it off and this quote was a source of comfort in knowing that its inner beauty that matters instead of outer beauty, which is something everyone knows of, but not necessarily uses.

First off, with this quote I am not a hugely religious person. I do go to church once a week or so because my school is christian and it is scheduled into my school weeks, but this quote speaks to me. It is sort of like everything happens for a reason and if you can't quite see that reason, something good will happen in the future for you.

So these were my favorite quotes of the week! Let me know yours in the comments below and if you have any quotes you love or live by, share them with me because I'd love to hear them!

Castle
OMG! If you are a castle fan like myself, the first two episodes of this season were amazing! You should totally check out this show if you like crime dramas!

The Mindy Project
The first comedy! I love this because it is so hilarious! Mindy Kaling is freaking amazing and if you haven't seen an episode of this, you should!

Keeping up with the Kardashians
Another show that I'm sort of but not really keeping up on. I watch it sometimes, but I don't have to watch this show every week

This show is amazing! If you like cooking shows or kids, or both, you should watch this show! It's kids 8-13 cooking and they are so amazing!

This show is my guilty pleasure! I love all of the drama, and I think that it is such a good reality show because it is not overly dramatic or anything like that and it's so addicting!

Dislocated Shoulder Update

Hey everyone!
So its been around a month since I've dislocated my shoulder and I went to the orthopedic doctor again and I thought that I would do a update for you guys! In case you missed the first post, I'll link it here for your convenience!
So I almost have full range of motion again! If I move it up and to the side it almost gets to the top, but there is a little bit of resistance. The bad news is that my shoulder still hurts if I move my arm anywhere if front or across of my body. I thought that I was around 70% better, and after my ortho doctor looked at me, she agreed. Unfortunately  in Hawaii, right now is cheerleading competition season. I already sat out of the first competition and the next one is next week friday. I honestly am not one of those people who will push themselves to try and recover sooner and I'm going to take my doctor's advice and wait until I'm 85-90% better before I tumble or base again! Also for all you cheerleaders out there, don't fret about dislocated shoulders! My doctor says that it is very unlikely for it to pop out in the first place and it is only around 30% likely to recur, but that's only with bad form or if you don't rehab it correctly the first time! Also I know that I've said this so much before, but thanks so much for keeping me in your thoughts and all that because I really do appreciate it! Let me know if you have any other questions, comments, or whatever in the comments section!

Inspirational Quotes of the Week #1

Hey everyone!
I wanted to start a series on inspirational quotes of the week! I just think that inspirational quotes are so amazing and they can really cheer you up when you're down and I think that this would be a fun weekly post idea! So let's get started!

I think that this quote is so funny and it's even funnier because it's true!

I love this quote so much because its from the last page of the Great Gatsby. In my English class, we just finished reading that book and I feel like I get this quote now and I also think that its meaningful and sums up the entire novel into one sentence.

Another funny quote! I think that this is the quote that would cheer me up when I'm having a bad day!

So those were my inspirational quotes for the week! Let me know what you think of these quotes in the comments and if you have any quotes, leave them below so I can read them!

It is the Alpine Swiss Burger from Ruby Tuesday!
It is so yummy and it has Swiss Cheese and mushrooms on a burger with lettuce, tomato, and onion. I love this burger so much and it is totally the best one to get from Ruby Tuesday!
