Blogging Schedule?

Hi guys!
I literally just did a post on this on my other blog, which you should totally check out by the way, and I thought that I should do a similar post on this blog! So this blog is really all about my life. That's why I titled it "living my life". Because I want to write about my life and what's going on with me, I've decided not to have a posting schedule this year! I want this blog to be organic and if I have to write posts for certain days, it's going to be less real and genuine. But with that being said, I'll try to shoot for 2 non-consecutive days a week! If you have any questions leave them in the comments and I'll get back to you!

Fitness Inspiration

Hey everyone!
I have my fitness inspiration post for you guys today! I know that january is when you make your resolutions and some of mine are fitness related, which I'll share with you in this post! So let's get started!

I took yoga as my PE class last year at my school and I loved it. It made me feel really good and it was honestly very relaxing and fun for me. I want to try do more yoga on my own at home and stuff because it is really good because it strengthens my core and back and helps me improve flexibility!

I honestly just love this picture so much and I don't really have a reason! I am a cheerleader and I do a lot of tumbling and this picture just makes me happy!

This picture actually really hits home for me. I am currently injured with torn cartilage in my shoulder. I don't want to turn this into a "pity me" post, because I'm done feeling sorry for myself and I just want to get better and stronger. When I saw this picture, it is really just what I need to hear to keep me motivated and inspired!

So that was my fitness inspiration! Let me know what you think of it in the comments and don't forget to follow my blog for more posts!

Nutrition Inspiration

Hey everyone!
So I have a nutrition inspiration post for you guys! I am super excited for this and I loved doing my last nutrition inspiration post so I'm doing it again! Let's get started!

Doesn't this look absolutely fantastic? I really want to cook more often this year because cooking is something that I really love to do, but I want to also cook more healthy. I love quinoa, but I usually opt for cooking pasta or something a little less healthy instead of it and I want to make an effort to cook healthy things that I love to eat! Also, this just looks like a fabulous quinoa salad!

I also want to drink more vegetables. I have been drinking green smoothies, but not as much as I'd like to. I love green smoothies because it gets in vegetables like kale, which I wouldn't normally eat, into my diet! My current favorite green smoothie is 1 kiwi, a lot of kale, orange juice, and a frozen banana!

I also want to drink more water this year! I want to do some water infusions like the one in the picture because they are a great alternative to juice and soda! I also think that it looks really pretty!

So that was my nutrition inspiration for you guys! I really want to do more nutrition posts, so I'll probably start that up in February after I'm done writing and posting all of my advice posts! Let me know what you're nutrition inspiration is and what your goals are in the comments!

How to Be More Outgoing

Hey guys!
So I have heard that being extroverted/introverted is genetic and is inherited, but I also know that you can teach yourself to be more extroverted to a certain extent! So I'll share with you some tips on how to be more extroverted!

So first off, let's start with me! I am not really introverted or extroverted, I am kind of a mixture. With people that I know, even just a little, I am extremely extroverted, but around people that I don't know well, I tend to shy up and crawl back into my shell. My dad is very extroverted and my mom is introverted, so I would probably be considered a mix of the two as I'm sure a lot of people are. I have sort of become more extroverted recently and I want to share with you guys how I did that!

1) Talk to more people
This is so vague and so not helpful, but it really needs to be first. If you are very truly and introverted person, this will be very hard, but there are ways to make it easier. For example, if you are in school, talk to someone from your class and ask them what the homework was or how they think they did on a test or something like that because it is something you both have in common and isn't too crazy. You could also message someone on facebook and just start chatting with them. Actually I recently did that with a guy that I was friends with in 8th grade, but haven't talked to since, and now we're actually really close again. If you are a little more of a mixture of extrovertedness and introvertedness, you have it a little easier and you can talk to your friends when they're with people you don't know and you can kind of try to squeeze yourself into conversations, where your friends are.
2) Posture = Everything
Have you ever seen someone sitting by themselves, crouched over their phone? You don't really want to go up and start talking to this person, do you? While I know its easy to get caught up in texting or your phone, try to do this with good posture. Instead of hunching over, sit up straight, and look approachable. If you're talking one on one with someone, don't cross your arms because it makes you look closed off. Instead, try to keep them by your sides because it makes you look more open! Also, stand up straight and look up because it makes you look more confident and approachable.
3) Put Yourself Out There
This is another very obvious tip, but one that is probably the hardest. You have to put yourself out there to be more outgoing and extroverted. I know that it's very difficult and it is something that I struggle with a lot as well, but you can try ease yourself into this. If you're still in school, joining a club, or a sport can really help meet new people. You can also try volunteering or just going to parties or gatherings. I think the thing to take away from this tip is to put yourself in situations where you can meet people.

So I'll do an update on this post if I think of any other tips, but I think that I covered everything! I know that trying to be more outgoing is hard for a lot of us and I promise you that if you put in the effort, it will get better and easier. If you have any questions or just want to talk to me about this, leave me a comment below, tweet me, or email me because I know how difficult this is and I'd love to help you guys if you need it.

How to Deal with Friends and Drama

Hi lovelies!
So I really want to start doing a few advice posts this month so that we can all start 2014 on a great foot! This post is going to be on how to deal with friends and drama, and I have dealt with this a lot this past week and I feel very equipped to give some advice! Keep in mind, this is all just my opinion and it might not be the best advice, but it works for me! So let's get started!

So let's start off on my background...
I am a very extroverted person. I feel the need to share everything about my life and everything that I know with literally everyone. I don't have very many secrets and that could be because I am an open book, but more likely, it can be because I am bad at keeping secrets. Most of my friends are very good secret keepers and if someone tells me a secret, I'll usually tell like one person. It may sound like I am a horrible person, and I have been called that, but the thing is that if I know a secret, I like to talk about it with someone. Also, me and a couple of my guy friends tell each other literally every little secret, so it's not a big deal that I share stuff like that with them.

Let's get to my problem...

A guy that I don't know at all started talking to me and he wanted to tell me a secret. When people don't know me, I really do like to be up front and honest, so I told him I usually tell my friends everything and that I honestly don't think that I can keep what you tell me a secret. He told me anyways and it was about how he asked out one of my friends over the summer and she rejected him. I had no clue, and I told another of my friends because we are friends with the girl he asked out and I thought that we would have known because we're all friends. Well, apparently he didn't like that, and now, supposedly hates me and is mad at my friend (the one he asked out).

So how do you deal with friends and drama?
1) See the Situation Realistically
I think that especially in High School and Middle School, every little thing seems like the end of the world. And I, personally, hate it when people make big deals out of nothing! Like the guy who told me the secret knew I was going to tell my friend and I gave him fair warning, but with that being said, this is just the stupidest drama. It doesn't matter, really, at all and it'll blow over in a week or so. Just assess the situation and see if it really is something that needs to be addressed or if you can ignore it!
2) Never Point Fingers
When you point fingers, you make the situation 10000X worse. I never, ever blame someone for a problem or drama because it makes it really hard to make up with that person when you call them out. I think it's fine to have a conversation about the drama or problem, but never blame someone because it never works out well.
3) Hang Out with Other Friends
I know that some people have set "groups" of friends and that its' harder if you have a group, but if at all possible, try to spend time with other people just so you're not obsessing or talking about the drama 24/7.
4) Forget About It
This is probably the weirdest of the tips, but it totally works. By not acknowledging the drama or problem, you show that you are above it and that you've moved on. If the other person or other people bring it up, it makes you look like the bigger person because you're already past it. I do realize that some things are so big that it's very difficult to move past, but spending time on hobbies or with other friends can help you move past what's happened.
5) Asses Your Friendships
This is another hard tip, but it is also very true. You should assess your friendships because if drama happens often, and it upsets you, it could be because of the people you hang around. I'm not going to say stop hanging around your friends or anything, but just knowing who and what causes drama helps a lot.

So this was an insanely long post, but I hope that it was a little bit helpful! I know that dealing with friends and drama is very hard, but it's something that you outgrow after high school and you only have to endure for a little while. If you have any suggestions for other advice type posts, let me know in the comments!

Inspirational Quotes of the Week #8

Hi everyone!
I'm back with another inspirational quotes of the week post! I know that this was supposed to be a weekly post, and I've been slacking just a tad bit lately, but I promise to try be more on top of this series this year! So I have some great quotes to start off 2014 to share with you guys!

This quote is great because I think that something that a lot of people want to be is more outgoing and extroverted. I know that introvertedness and extrovertedness (are those even words?!?) are mostly hereditary, but I think to a certain extent you can train and teach yourself to become more one or the other (I might do a blog post on this soon!). This quote just shows that people are people and that you shouldn't feel awkward or uncomfortable or nervous because they're human too!

I suffer from big-mouth syndrome. Yes, I am a little bit of a gossiper or whatever you'd like to call it and recently it has gotten me in a tiny bit of trouble, but the thing is that I am also a very good listener. I think that there is a delicate balance of telling everyone everything (which I am very good at) and keeping things secret and knowing when to talk and when to listen. I am still trying to figure that out, but I do want to make more of an effort to keep my big mouth under control!

Something that I've been feeling lately is that people take life to seriously. I am still in High School, and I know that it could be because of where I am, but seriously, people make a big deal out of nothing. I love this quote because I think that you really do need to live for yourself. You need to focus on yourself instead of problems that other people have (for the most part) and you need to really care for yourself without feeling guilty.

I actually have a lot of posts that I am really interested in writing mostly about school and friends, how to be a happier person, dealing with drama, and more and I am really interested to share some of my advice with you guys! So I hope you enjoyed this post and don't forget to follow this blog!

FINALS!!!

Hello y'all!
So I haven't been posting on this blog or my other one as much this week, but that's because I've had my finals! So this is sort of an update on my life this past (stressful) week so if you want to know about school and all that jazz, keep reading!
It is nearing the end of the first semester of school for me (it ends after my last final tomorrow) and I have had my finals this week. I know it's kind of weird saying that this is the first week back from winter break, but that can't be helped!
This semester I took 6 classes, but two of them don't have finals (english and child development psychology). On wednesday I had my AP United States History test and today I had my Spanish test and my AP Biology test. They were pretty uneventful, and they all went pretty okay in my opinion. I also got my schedule for next semester and I am taking 6 classes next semester (AP US History, AP Biology, Algebra 2, English, Glass Blowing, Spanish). I am super excited for Glass Blowing because it is something very unique to the school I go to and I believe that we are the only school in the nation to have a glass blowing lab on campus! I think that it sounds like so much fun!
So this was kind of a pointless and random post, but I thought that you guys should know what has been going on in my life these past few days! I promise that I'll be posting more frequently after this week is over and leave comments below with post suggestions!

Shoulder update!

Hi everybody!
So I wanted to give you a little update on my shoulder. I dislocated my shoulder a couple months ago at cheerleading and then again maybe around a month and a half ago. My shoulder has been feeling unstable and loose and it has been in a lot of pain, so I went to the doctor. When my doctor asked me to push up when my arm was crossed across my body, it hurt a lot. It turns out, that my doctor thinks I might have ripped the cartilage in my shoulder when I dislocated my shoulder the second time. It's not for sure yet, but in a couple weeks I need to get a MRI to determine where the rip is. The scariest part for me is that before the MRI I have to get injected with dye so that if my cartilage is ripped, the dye will leak out. My doctor said that the recovery will probably be 3-6 months if I have to get surgery or 1 1/2 months if I only have to do physical therapy. I didn't mean to be a downer with this post, but I just wanted to share this with you guys because I know that I've shared a lot about my shoulder and that some of you guys are interested in my recovery.

Did I keep my 2013 resolutions?

So I know that the majority of people don't end up keeping their new years resolutions past February, so I thought it would be fun to look up my 2013 resolutions and see if I actually achieved them!

Resolution #1: Keep my room clean
I sort of kept this one! My room wasn't the cleanest at some times this year, but currently it's very neat and I think that it's been mostly clean this year!

Resolution #2: Floss nightly
Yes! I tried my hardest to keep this resolution and I can honestly say that I only missed 20 days at the most and that I've flossed nearly every night this year!

Resolution #3: Eat a serving of fruits and vegetables at each meal
I did not keep this one! I was really good about trying to sneak in more vegetables, but I couldn't get them in at every single meal! This will probably be a resolution for 2014 too!

Resolution #4: Pray every night
I didn't keep this resolution either. I am actually really sad that I didn't keep this one because I think that praying would have been extremely helpful for me after my shoulder dislocation and all that other stuff, but I'll carry this resolution on to next year too!

Resolution #5: Get license and/or permit!
Haha I barely met this resolution! I only just got my drivers permit on Christmas Eve!

So as you can see, it's kind of a mixed plate! I kept 2 of my resolutions, sort of kept 1, and didn't at all keep 2 of them. I think that it was really interesting to reevaluate after a year has gone by and I challenge all of you guys to see if you kept your 2013 resolutions!

My 2014 New Year Resolutions

Hi everyone!
So I wanted to do a quick post on my 2014 New Year Resolutions! I did a inspiration for 2014 post on my other blog, so if you'd like to see that post (which you should!) I'll link it here.

1) Be more productive
I really want to try watching less television and do more! I think that this is a goal that a lot of people have and I'm thinking of doing an entire post on how to increase productivity in your life!

2) Eat more fruits and vegetables
I am a huge carb eater! I seriously eat carbs 24/7, but this year I want to start switching it up and getting my carbs from fruits and vegetables instead of grains.

3) Go makeup free one day a week
I love makeup. It is my hobby and my passion, but I really want to try going makeup free one day a week this year because I think it's important for me to feel good in my own skin and this will force me to stop covering up.

4) Make time for myself once a week
I get really caught up in life and I want to set aside one day a week for pampering myself. I've heard that you can't love someone until you love yourself and I want to pamper myself so that I'm happier!

So those were my 2014 New Year Resolutions! I'd love to hear what your resolutions are and maybe take some of your resolutions and make them mines too! Leave comments below for future blog posts too!
