Net Neutrality

Hi guys!
I know that I rarely write posts on news topics, but this is a topic that affects a lot of us youtubers out there and is something that needs to be shared and addressed.

Currently, the FCC is considering a new law that would make some videos faster and others slower based on what companies are willing to pay for views. This is problematic for many reasons, but the biggest one is that it doesn't put everyone on a level playing field. Some videos will be faster and others will be slower and that's not fair to both the content creators as well as the viewers.

If you have made even one video on youtube, you should care about this because it has the opportunity to cut your revenue, lower your subscriber base, and stifle your creativity.

So what can you do about this? There's a petition online (that I'll link here) that is going to be presented to the FCC and try to get them to keep and maintain Net Neutrality. So all of us are on an even playing field.

If you want to learn more about this, you can read a little bit about it on the petition website, or this tumblr has a good little bit about it!

I hope that you seriously consider signing the petition because it's important for youtubers and really, everyone!
